Luxury in Arizona
8/1/10
We locals in Arizona have it good. During our hot summer months the daily rates go down on some of the best resorts Arizona has to offer. What makes these resorts so special? Try championship golf courses, luxurious spas, fine dining, private water parks, and incredible pools. Did I mention the views? We are going to take a closer look at one of these resorts and become more familiar with its individual offerings so you can see for yourself what makes them so special.
The Arizona Grand Resort
This AAA Four Diamond Resort is the leading Arizona family vacation getaway and is at the top of my list of places to stay in Arizona. This 740 suite hotel offers an 18-hole golf course, athletic club, hiking, biking, spa, salon, a 7-acre water park, seven unique dining venues and 117,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Let’s check in.
The Arizona Grand Resort has oversized suites and provides a residential-style comfort. The 740 non-smoking suites have been designed with Arizona colors and bamboo and rattan furnishings. Additionally, every Resort Suite has a separate living room with a queen sofa bed as well as a private balcony or patio off the bedroom. Currently this resort offers 10 different suites, the Resort, Deluxe and Premier Suites, the Villa Guest Room, the Hospitality Suite and the Grand and Villa Suites, The Sedona Suite, South Mountain Suite and of course the Arizona Grand Suite. Some come in 1 and 2 bedroom designs and offer golf course and other scenic views that are breathtaking and unique to Arizona.
The 7-acre water park is called The Oasis Water Park and is for hotel guests only; which means no large crowds. The park was voted in the Top 10 water parks and one of the nation’s largest resort water parks by the Travel Channel. There is an eight story high water slide, that is correct, eight stories high. The park also has a gigantic wave pool, a 25 person hot tub and a relaxing river to go tubing down. When you need a break grab a snack at the Oasis Bar & Grill.
The Arizona Grand Resort has seven unique dining venues that satisfy every taste. Their newest dining options include The Lobby Grill, The Lobby Bar and the Marketplace Café.
The Arizona Grand Spa is sure to rejuvenate your mind and body. Relaxing massage, cleansing body treatments, hydrating facials is just a sample of the luxury that this Arizona spa has to offer. Arizona Grand Spa is the largest resort spa and salon in Arizona.
Arizona Grand Golf Course offers its golfers the beauty of Arizona’s South Mountain Park, a protected natural desert preserve. The course is a challenging Par 71 layout, which can be seen from The Lobby Grill overlooking the first tee box area. The course comes with a service staff committed to creating unique experiences for players of all ability levels.
Fitness buffs have it all at the Arizona Grand Resort! A 20,000 square foot onsite Athletic Club and the 17,000-acre South Mountain Preserve outside, everything you need awaits you. There are 45 classes weekly to choose from along with personal training and membership opportunities. You can even rent a bike and go biking or hiking with over 60 miles of trails at the South Mountain Preserve. Here is what the Athletic Club has to offer: More than 40 cardiovascular machines, including Paramount and Icarian strength training equipment. A Separate free-weight room, more than 45 fitness classes per week, Indoor racquetball court, Indoor golf instruction and a five-lane, 20-meter, heated lap pool.
The resort also has its very own kids club, named Grand Adventures Kids Club for guests 5-12 years of age. This club is open March-September and sessions are offered twice daily 9am-1230pm and again at 1pm-430pm. A light snack is provided at each session and children will enjoy a wide range of activities which change everyday. There is no charge for the club, it is covered with the resort fee, but sessions fill up quick so make reservations early.
As you tell by now this resort has so much to offer. There is so much more to this Luxury resort than what this small article showcases. You really have to be there to experience firsthand the exceptional service, the incredible views and the comforts of luxury this resort has to offer. Bring the family, enjoy the pools, relax in the spa’s and spend an evening in the lap of luxury all for a price that will make you know why we locals have it good.
