When the American Football League and the NFL merged, the Buffalo Bills retained membership. They got their name from an old football franchise: the AAFC Buffalo Bills. In 1964 and 1965, they won the AFL Championship titles. They are also famous for the fact that they are the only team to have won four consecutive AFC Championships.
