Can I drive in Arizona with a California learner’s permit if I have a licensed adult (over 25) with me?
My family is taking a road trip to Arizona, and I have a California learner’s permit. I’d like to get more driving hours for my license requirements, since we’ll be doing a lot of driving, but I couldn’t find the laws reguarding out-of-state permits on the Arizona Department of Transportation website. I would be driving with one of my parents, and we’d be there for a week or so.
As long as you are visiting and not a resident or employed in the state of AZ, you should be fine. The only problem you MAY have is your age. In AZ, you must be 15 yrs and 7 mos. to qualify for an “Instructional Permit”, so as long as you have a licensed driver in the vehicle with you, you SHOULD be fine.
My man is an AZ Highway Patrol Officer and he says: HE wouldn’t give you a hard time, so you should be fine
Good Luck, and Stay Safe!
