Arizona Mandarin
High School Mandarin or French?
I am a freshman, in Spanish 2. Next year I am planning on taking 2 languages, Spanish and a secondary language. Many people have told me Mandarin but in my school, the Mandarin teacher is skyped in from another school and their is only the basic course while the French goes up to level 4. I hope to go into business and I am now hearing that Mandarin is the “it” language right now but the reality is, how am i going to be fluent in it. I am looking in becoming fluent not the basics. There are so many Chinese Americans that are already fluent in both english and Mandarin. Which language would you recommend. (btw: I am located in Arizona, USA)
Take Mandarin. Chinese is totally the ‘it’ language, as you put it. If you do business with the Chinese, they won’t force you to speak it, but they’ll definitely appreciate it if you can.
