What are my rights in the state of Texas regarding approved methods of payments for traffic violation?
I received a Notice of Violation letter from the city of Houston through the photo enforcment program out of Phoenix, Arizona. I was charged with failure to stop at a red light. I viewed evidence at www.violationinfo.com and both letter and web site insists that I pay for the violation and does not give me an option of community service or any other possible options besides paying out of pocket CASH. This is a civil infraction that is not reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety. What can I do about it?
No court anywhere is obligated to offer you community service.
Pay the fine, and be thankful you didn’t crash into someone that had the right of way.
