Thinking about Moving to Arizona?
My husband and I are thinking (very much) about moving to the Phoenix area of Arizona. We have visited there, but have some questions about living there. What are the best suburbs to live? Surprise? Chandler? Gilbert? etc.. Also, who is the best home builder? We have looked at Taylor Morrison, Richmond America, KB homes, Maracay homes on line, but not sure about the quality of each. We do not want to live in Scottsdale as the price of homes are higher than we would like and we may as well stay in Southern California if we were to look there, lol. We do not have any children yet, but will be starting a family soon , so we don’t really have to be close to night life or lots of bars.
We have looked at a few answers on here and most that we’ve seen favor Chandler for raising a family? What do you think about this?
We, for sure, want an area that has access to good shopping and restaurants. Hope this is not to broad of a question and look forward to your thoughts! thanks! =)

I live in Arizona, Cave Creek to be exact.. I am an Arizona Native, as well as a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
I will try to be as brief as possible, as if you let me, I could go on an on about all the areas you mentioned. The three communities you mentioned are all good places to settle in to Arizona. Of the the three you have mentioned I think Surprise is having the most difficult time right now. Surprise became the “in” place to buy during the peak of the market. So, it is being hit VERY hard by foreclosures. Chandler and Gilbert are much more established locations and the infrastructure is there and working well. The school districts in both of these areas have a well deserved reputation. Surprise school district is struggling a little right now. Another nice area, is Cave Creek. I am not just saying that because I live there. It is centrally located, well priced, and the school district is rated high within the state.
I will be happy to set you up on some MLS searches so that you are able to look at listings, to get an idea as to what is out there in all the areas. Just let me know if that would be helpful. I promise, there is no obligation what so ever!
