I was rejected from Northern Arizona University?

I applied to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and University of Arizona and I just got a letter from NAU saying that they could not admit me due to my “past academic records”. NAU was not my first choice, but I was understandably pissed off, and my first thought was “Who the f*** do they think they are?” And then came the support of my friends and family with comforting jokes about the people of NAU being inbred lumberjacks.

While it is true that I had awful grades in my freshmen and sophomore years, I had a good SAT score (1720) and an average GPA of 3.7 in my junior and senior years. I personally don’t think it is very fair to be judged based on the person you were when you started high school.

What are your thoughts on this, and should I expect something similar from the other two schools?

All students are being judged the same way. So yes it is fair. There are plenty of students who did do well all four years of HS. Also there is an higher amount of students who are applying to colleges in the past 2 years. So there are more applications to choose from. this is why it is important to apply to at least 4/6 colleges.
Although all 3 schools look to be about the same in requirements, don’t assume you will be denied at all of them.
